Self-Producing for Your Career: Inaugural OMG Workshop

Welcome to the inaugural OMG members event! Led by founder Lydia-Renee “Lyd” Darling , we’ll be talking about self-producing in your career across live performance, digital series and more.

No matter what you want to create, you’ll get resources and project planning advice to venture off on your own. Our panel of hosts and speakers include:

Lydia-Renee Darling, a graduate of The Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Her five-person play, It’s a Sisterhood, Betches, was called; “Mean Girls meets the Orient Express” by The Royal Court, and was a shortlist for both The Pleasance Charlie Hartill Fund and the Bristol Old Vic Fringe Fund. She’s also created a solo webseries with The Second City and a Zoom short produced, written and acted by Lydia in response to the Kenosha shootings in her home state. The short was chosen for the Lift Off Sessions Festival, First Time Filmmaker Festival and Andromeda Film Festival during the pandemic, alongside producing outside projects like past New Black Film Collective event hosting, the UK tour of Vitamin D and many more projects across theatre, comedy and digital series.

We’ll have music, snacks and networking throughout too— so get ready to join us at Somerset House for a relaxed discussion.

Events are included with OMG memberships and we keep a few free slots available for Somerset House Exchange members.
